Invictus Games Trials (1.18 mins)

The Invictus Games 2017 (IG17) selection trials were conducted at the Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra, from 9 - 12 January 2017. Thirty one ADF and 46 RSL veterans vied for a spot in the training squad, to be further reduced to an Australian team of about 40 members. The IG is an international adaptive multi-sports competition for serving and former serving military personnel who have been wounded, injured or become ill during service to their country. The IG were created in 2014 by Prince Harry to assist service personnel in their recovery and rehabilitation. The IG uses sport to inspire recovery, support and rehabilitation for our personnel and to generate a wider understanding and respect of all those who serve their country and their loved ones. IG17 will be held in Toronto, Canada, from 23-30 September.
