An Australian Army soldier is helping to keep the Afghan Air Force flying and their air crews safe. Sergeant Carson is an Aircraft Life Support Fitter embedded in the Train Advise Assist Command – Air (TAAC-Air) in Kabul. She mentors Afghan Air Force personnel who maintain safety, survival, life support and rescue equipment for the air force; equipment such as helmets, oxygen masks and anti-gravity suits. Operation Highroad is the Australian contribution to the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan. Australia contributes about 300 Defence personnel to the train, advise and assist mission.
